Invitation from ISBC Steering Committee

SME activity and policy has been receiving increased attention in national economies and public policy. The ISBC, consisting of business representatives, policy practitioners, and researchers, has contributed to the promotion of communication and understanding among related parties in an increasingly globalised society.

Sustainable development is the most important objective which we face in the 21st century, and the marriage of SME activity and policy with sustainable development strategies is imperative.

On behalf of the ISBC Steering Committee, I invite everyone concerned about these issues to come to Belfast, so that the Congress will be successful from this viewpoint.

Invitation to International Congress

It is a great pleasure for me to invite you to the 35th International Small Business Congress in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Congress has an excellent program on recent developments in entrepreneurship with well known speakers coming from all around the world. Many participants will bring different experiences and backgrounds.

It will be a time for listening, learning, exchanging views, renewing contacts and enjoying a new Belfast, our first return to the UK in over 20 years. In short: Belfast is the place to be in November 2008

Invitation to Belfast

It is a great pleasure to invite the International Small Business Congress to Belfast, a place where people are proud to live, work and visit. With a strong and modern physical infrastructure, highly skilled workforce and exceptional educational resources, we are ideally placed to compete globally.

As a small business economy, our ability to foster entrepreneurship and stimulate business development is vital to our future prosperity. Through localised, area based interventions and linking our educational resources to industry, we have created strong foundations from which to build our ongoing competitiveness.

Fast growing sectors in Belfast include the creative, environmental, advanced manufacturing and knowledge industries which are contributing new wealth to the city.

With exciting new retail, tourism and business developments, Belfast has established itself as a dynamic European City of choice for investors, businesses and leisure tourists alike. I look forward to welcoming you to our City.

The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tom Hartley

Invitation to Congress

It is my pleasure to be able to invite you to the 35th ISBC Congress to be held for the first time on the island of Ireland. As hosts, we intend to offer you an event of the highest quality featuring a multitude of internationally acclaimed names and speakers from all parts of the world.

From an SME perspective we have one of the most sophisticated support systems to be found anywhere, with a highly developed entrepreneurial network and businesses competing successfully on the global market and from which much can learned.

I know you will enjoy your visit to the Emerald Isle and will be impressed by both the scenery and the warmth of the people.
